If, unlike me; the last half of your birth year is a number higher than 90 you have probably never experienced the displeasure of a freshly made pizza being delivered with the toppings attached to the lid of your pizza box rather than the base where we all prefer it to be.
You see, back in 1983; an unassuming lady whom you have probably never heard of decided to do something about a problem with a very simple solution. Her name was Carmela Vitale, a 46-year-old woman living in Dix Hills, New York on Long Island. Vitale was a doting mother, a loving wife, and an active member of her community who served on the city council. She never had a career as a scientist, or even as an engineer. But she was, an inventor.
Since our founding, we believe in top-quality ingredients, fair prices, and good times. From our St Louis-style pizzas, to our family-recipe pastas, to our delicious salads and sandwiches, we cater to any taste and fit any budget. Dine in, carry out, or for delivery, our food tastes good anywhere!
Domino's and Ford team up on an industry-first collaboration to understand the role that self-driving vehicles can play in pizza delivery. As part of the test, researchers from both companies investigate customers' reactions to interacting with a self-driving vehicle as part of their delivery experience.
After working several years for another pizzeria, the founder felt that there was plenty of room for competitors in the fast growing pizza delivery business. At that time, there was only one major player in the pizza delivery business in the Rocky Mountain region and he felt that customers would really appreciate a better alternative to satisfy their pizza cravings.
The first Blackjack Pizza and Salads store was opened on June 29, 1983 in Federal Heights, CO. The second store opened in Greeley, CO in February of 1984. Vince continued to open new stores, mainly in the Denver Metro Area. By 1986, there were six corporate owned stores and one franchisee in operation.
In 1988, Blackjack officially became a franchisor using the concept of an owner/operator franchisee at each store location. Several corporate stores were sold to franchisees, and other franchisees were added to the system through conversions of independent operators who saw the value in being part of Blackjack Pizza and Salads. We have continued to add franchise outlets to the system under a policy of slow, controlled growth. Today there are 40 stores in operation in five states.

Pizza Man was established over 40 years ago in June of 1983 in Baldwinsville, NY. Since the beginning, we have been a true family business dedicated to serving a high-quality product. We use fresh ingredients and make our dough and sauce on premise daily. Our pizza and wings have won numerous awards at the annual Taste of Baldwinsville competition. In December of 2007, we expanded and opened a pub offering an expanded menu and seating for 60 people. The focal point of our Pub is a beautiful old-style mahogany bar which features 17 draught and over 30 bottled beers. The pub showcases some of the best live musical talent in Central New York most Saturday nights.
Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is a pizzeria that ran from 1983 to June 26th, 1985. It succeeded Fredbear's Family Diner and preceded both the New and Improved Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and the 1993 New Jersey location, which ran simultaneously.
This place is the least mentioned of the bunch. However, this location has been shown in Time Travel Buddies, albeit only it's backstage, show stage, and dining area. On June 26th, 1985, William Afton wore a Spring Bonnie and lured five children into the backroom where he killed and stuffed them into animatronic suits to hide them from the police. The incident was called the Missing Children Incident, which led the closure of the 1983 pizzaria. The pizzaria was later demolished.
Later, in Bonnie's Face, Withered Freddy, Withered Bonnie, Withered Chica, and Withered Golden Freddy went to the place to find Withered Bonnie's face. Only to discovered that it has been demolished, leaving nothing but grass. However, they find the remains of their old pizzaria in boxes under the bridge, including Withered Bonnie's (Now decayed) face.
Italian cuisine is meant to be shared with friends and family, but we won't blame you if you're reluctant to pass your plate. At Carlo's Gourmet Pizzeria, Restaurant & Caterers, we've been perfecting each family recipe with labor and love since 1983. We serve authentic Italian food, including pizza, pasta, calzones and heroes even the pickiest eaters will love.
But more than food has been passed down through the generations-we also take pride in our service. Our family restaurant in Englishtown, NJ offers:
Pizza and gluten - they go together like mozzarella and tomatoes. But at Carlo's Gourmet Pizzeria, Restaurant & Caterers, we couldn't live with the idea that some of our gluten-intolerant diners can't experience the magic that is a perfect slice of 'za. And so, our gluten-free menu was born.
Feel free to order Italian favorites like pastas, gourmet pizzas and garlic bread without any of the nasty gluten normally holding you back. How many pizzerias can say that? So go ahead, chow down to your heart and stomach's content.

On March 8, 1983, Domino's Pizza announced they would offer a one million dollar bonus to any driver who could win IndyCar's Triple Crown of 500 Mile Races: The Indianapolis 500, Michigan 500, and Pocono 500. In 1982, Gordon Johncock won Indianapolis and Michigan before breaking a gearbox while running second at Pocono. If no driver won all three races, Dominos would award a $10,000 prize to the driver that scored the most points in the three races.[2]
In May, Tom Sneva won the Indianapolis 500, the first of his career. In mid-July, John Paul Jr. won the Michigan 500. This meant no driver was going for the Domino's Triple Crown million dollar bonus at Pocono.[3]
Practice and qualifying scheduled for Thursday was canceled. CART required a medical helicopter at all tracks before on-track activity was allowed; due to fog and poor visibility, the helicopter was unable to land at the track when it attempted in the morning. A rainstorm around 2:30 p.m. prevented another landing attempt from the helicopter and washed out any chance of practice.[6]
On Saturday, Indianapolis 500 winner, Tom Sneva, won the pole with a speed of 191.848 mph. Teo Fabi qualified second. Due to CART rule changes since 1982 limiting ground effects, Sneva's pole speed was nine miles per hour slower than Rick Mears' 1982 pole speed.[8]
Kevin Cogan, Danny Ongais, and Steve Chassey had their qualifying times disallowed due to illegal rear-wing heights. That moved Al Loquasto into the field. A promoter's option was invoked which expanded the starting field to 34 cars and allowed Cogan, Ongais, and Chassey to all make the field.[7]
Heading into the race, Pocono was criticized by drivers for the very rough and bumpy frontstretch. While the track was wide, there were large bumps as it went closer to the pit wall. Teo Fabi was quoted as saying, "The track is not very safe. It makes you very anxious. The straightaway is just impossible."[9]
Polesitter Tom Sneva said, "It's so rough that passing becomes a serious situation. There are places out there where you just can't pass and keep the car on the ground."[9] He also added, "Drivers make a track unsafe, not the track itself. You just have to use your head more and stay out of trouble. If it feels uncomfortable at 192, then slow down to 188. You have to realize your limitations."[10]
