Yes, it's possible to delete user loops. These files are stored in the user Library folder, which is hidden by default. However, if you hold Option key while having Go menu open in Finder, it will become visible (between Home and Computer). Once in the user Library folder, navigate to /Audio/Apple Loops/User Loops/. Your loop should be there. Cheers!

I have Logic Pro X 10.1 and everything was working until I upgraded. For some reason all my loops are greyed out, even though I downloaded additional content (all of it in fact). I have deleted it and reinstalled it, nothing. All the genres for the loops are greyed out, and there isn't a single loop available to use.

I noticed something else interesting, which is that the last modification date of the broken LoopsDatabaseV08.db file was the day that my loops all disappeared (technically they grey-ed out). I think this .db file got corrupted due to a Logic or OS crash or something along those lines.

Had same problem; found out what's up. So, I notice I had around 18000 loops in Logic, noticed some were greyed out, got online to figure it out, tried reindexing, all the greyed out ones disappeared (around 8000 loops). In short, after thoroughly searching through folders, I found the place where "existing" loops were, took mental note of the extension for the loop files, and searched through the computer for somewhere else where files with the same extension might be found.

Hi, I found that file (LoopsDatabaseV09.db in my case) and it had a modification date from 8 months back. Just moving that file away and restarting Logic did the trick (no reindex needed). Still the file date didn't change, which I found odd, as it seemed to indicate that Logic was using a different database somewhere. I stopped Logic, put the file back and restarted, and the loops were still available, and the file date didn't change, again. Odd. I finally found the actual database there, with a very recent modification date :

Example: The loops in your screenshot that are missing are all part of the Jam Pack Rhythm Section set... so click the triangle next to Legacy and Compatibility and then the one next to Jam Pack Rhythm Section to confirm it actually got completely downloaded...

Any idea what's going on here? No Apple Loops showing, this is a clean install of Logic 10 on new Mac, all content downloaded successfully, Apple Loops folder in Root / Library / Audio showing as 4.41GB, Apple loops list is empty. Reindexing loops has no effect, nor does a permissions reset or forced Spotlight reindex.

Wow, this has been an adventure to say the least! I used Logic almost daily and all the sudden, my loops were gone, after purchasing some new ones and I was so excited to try them, but could not load them, all the Apple Loops, everything gone! I read every post and then some twice, trying everything and nothing worked but the one suggestion of someone saying open a new log in account and start from scratch. That worked, including my new loops that I had purchased.

I have the latest version of Logic Pro X and I noticed that I am missing quite few loops from the library. I have followed the steps above and looked further into previous comments but nothing has actually changed. For some reason I do not have the option of 'Additional content' when I click on 'Logic Pro X'. My biggest concern, as I am studying a music production degree at University, is that I have hundreds of 'Sound effects' missing from the loop library such as explosions, breathing or a dog barking... How do I get those back?

Hey y'all I was trying to get logic pro on windows but apparently that doesn't work, is there a way I can get apple loops on windows? or garageband loops,or if there is a free pack that has loops from apple loops, bc I've been lookin everywhere for an apple lo-fi loop and couldn't find it on any website or subreddit.
-thanks

The Apple Loops Library is a great addition to Logic that allows producers to easily drag and drop pre-made loops and One Shots into their sessions. These sounds are provided by Apple and are free with the software.

The Apple Loops Utility software was a small companion utility for Soundtrack Pro, GarageBand, Logic Express, and Logic Pro, all made by Apple Inc. that allowed users to create loops of audio that could be time-stretched. Audio files converted to Apple Loops via Apple Loops Utility could also be tagged with their publishing (Author, Comments tagged at the same time, a process known but it would convert the latter to AIFF when saved with tagging information).
