Recently I've tried to create a projector for swf on Windows but noticed the Create Projector option was grayed out. I've tried both the default projector and projector debugger for Flash Player 11.3 on Windows XP, 7 32bit and 7 64bit and with newer swf files using the Molehill API and older ones (compiled for Flash Player 9), but with no luck. On osx everything works fine.

I'm not so sure if adobe did it purposely or it is a bug. Anyway I published a bug report for it. Please vote for it and let other people know to vote for it or they will just ignore it. Its really annoying that I cannot create projectors out of my flash develop swfs u_u'

You can get an archived version of Adobe Flash Player plugins (Firefox, Opera) , ActiveX (Internet Explorer), debugger, or standalone player by going to -player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html.

The "Create Projector" option is broken as of Flash Player version 11.3 and is continued in version 11.4 and 11.5. I've filed a bug in Adobe's bug base. Please go there to Bug #3363321 and give it a vote so this bug gets fixed as soon as possible.

I know this a bit of an old thread, but this is still very contemporary to
me. I upgraded to Creative Cloud and on my 32 bit computer the Flash
Professional CS6 only loaded (on my 64 bit computer, the Flash
Professional CC loaded). Unfortunately with the Flash Professional CS6 download
came the Flash Player version 11 and the 'create projector' command greyed out.

I uninstalled the Flash Player 11 from the Flash Professional CS6 file and
installed the Flash Player 10.3 onto my computer. Unfortunately I can't seem to
open SWF files with the Flash Player 10.3 because my 'Open With' menu won't
recognize that I have downloaded the Flash Player 10.3 on my computer, even
though the Find Flash Player adobe website acknowledges that the Flash Player
10.3 is on my computer.

Yes I know that Flash Pro CC has a command of creating a projector, but most
of my InDesign documents that I built were on my 32 bit computer in InDesign
CS5 and for the sake of simplicity I would like to finish the project on my 32
bit computer.

That's right. I make interactive English language textbooks in Asia, where the teacher's own grasp of the target language is not the best. I create the printed text in AIDesign and the interactive program is initially created in AIDesign, exported to SWF. The teachers also have very little technical grasp, so they operate the interactive version from a computer, via a projector to the whole class.

Adobe Flash Player is set to automatically check for updates on Windows startup. I've always wondered where exactly it is set to do this. Checking the running services, as well as msconfig does not yield its location. The message in question looks like this: -an-update-to-your-adobe-flash-player-is-available-message-forever.html

I know how to disable it via Adobe's web site (instructions are included in link above), but I'm interested in knowing where exactly in Windows is this set to perform this action? I have done some research on this, and people keep saying to check the following registry locations:

This one was an entertaining puzzle, it's probably been answered elsewhere but I thought I'd let curious people know. As someone mentioned, it is the plugin module (NPSWF32.DLL in case of Netscape/Mozilla/Opera plugin) that does the check; thing is, it does not prompt the user to update immediately (it would not be able to do so with the browser open and the DLL in use anyway), but rather it defers the update until the next restart -- by adding a registry entry in HKLM (or HKCU, not positive)\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce key.

The entry is named FlashPlayerUpdate and contains \System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil_Plugin.exe -update plugin -- presumably the same command line you would run if you wanted to update the player manually (without the hassle with opening and closing your web browsers). The reason you don't see it in registry or with system tools like msconfig.exe is that RunOnce autostart entries are deleted from registry immediately once they are executed. Normally such entries are used by driver and Windows installations to perform one-time initialization after a reboot (once the required services are started and drivers loaded). So you would have seen that entry with msconfig, had you looked at it after the update check (which the plugin does silently), but before the reboot!

it's a setting within the flash player itself, which can be accessed in a roundabout way at that URL, which I found under the How do I change how often I receive notifications of updates? header of another link, but apparently as a new user I can't post more than one URL in an answer (because new users only use the internet one link at a time, I guess?)

While users seldom look here, this is not what a developer or systems administrator would consider a "hidden" location. It is one of the most commonly used methods to run a program at login or startup, and the only method to explicitly start a program only once.

If you look at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run keys, I'll wager you have at least a dozen programs listed there already. It's standard practice. It's certainly no less obscure than C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.

I have disabled the services and also readjusted a number of other update services and it was a huge boost for my laptop's performance. You can do that in Task Scheduler (you can find it via Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Task Scheduler).

Hello. I have question if Adobe Flash Player working in Zorin.
I tried installed for child a game name what have a launcher. exe and tried started with wine but not working. This is old Farmville 2 web browser a game.
It comes from Zynga. Adobe Flash Player discontinued 2020 and then developers created launcher app for this games. Next question if I can use this social app

@Aravisian I think this not working but I agree if something doesn't exist in 2020 then this is normal why not implemented in Zorin. I can live with this. Thanks and I am comfortable using a Zorin. Good choice.

If I created ISO my operating system and put in virtual box zorin it will be working properly? Any guide How to Convert a Physical Windows or Linux PC to a Virtual Machine ?? It will be working or you have better solution?

I found a solution. Just wondering if live box on zorin will be working smoothly without problems. I heard and reading on some operative linux live box working very well and faster from traditional computers.
If i writing something it could be usefull. @337harvey I still understand this forum about zorin but many people don't have with this problem. Example taken a comparison w7 and zorin or another distribution linux. Forum is for people who want share a knowledge. I just try find a solution I would like to use Zorin every day without jumping from one operating system to another and compromise to keep everything working.

I tried pepperflash but isn't supported and out from server. Can waiting for answear from server and never download package adobe flash player.
This emulator is for linux also but with tar.gz
Need find a guide how to open that.

Analyzer works in conjunction with flash player and unfortunately, there is no possible way out here. We have analyzer similar reporting and managing tool called GMS which also uses flash till version GMS 9.2 and this is fixed from version 9.3. With analyzer the latest version is 8.5 and it doesn't work without flash.

The replacement for Analyzer is Analytics 2.5 on prem with Syslog, soon to be updated to 3.1 I believe, not sure why SonicWall have not told you this, N.B. afaik this is only for Virtual appliances ( Hyperv & ESXi ) not Windows.
