Hi all

As mentioned, I’m interested in a more strategic, collaborative and nationally ‘joined-up’ approach to education and training in our sector and to see where AeRO can help. At the eResearch conference BoF I noted that I like frameworks and diagrams, so I’ve attached (google permitting) my slides from the BoF, to see if that triggers some discussions or even arguments(!?). I can think of a few things that we could set up and collaborate around:

-          A directory of content pointers (what’s out there, and where, and …?)

-          A directory of content producers, and deliverers (noting, they don’t have to be the same)

-          A catalogue of wants/needs (and how much)

-          A forum to capture best practices, standards, etc. (this group could be the start)

There are a range of things that come along with doing this, such as a directory structure (metadata!), methods for reviews/endorsements, standards, licensing, and so on, so plenty to consider.

I’m keen to get feedback on these ideas, what aspects people might need/value, etc. Or if there are other approaches or things we could tackle that would be helpful?

Thanks!

Cheers,

Markus
