Good Morning,

As I send you the day’s readings – I cannot help to reflect that life will only give us what we deserve, which then is a result of the choices we make for ourselves – and the accompanying discipline. Although I talk of leadership and share great stories (If you ask me) with you – it really will have no impact on you if there is no desire on your  part to form a character of selflessness and sacrifice in order to achieve your personal goals.

Kenya has a majority population that is poor – one whose fortunes can change if we all do subscribe to a calling of leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship. While you could say that you might end up in a health care field or another one not directly related to all this – I  believe that your enlightenment and personal interest as an individual in contributing to the progression and advancement of humanity will count.

Today I share a few articles;

Ø  Perseverance – Stacey Allaster – CEO of the World’s Tennis Association ( from New York Times)

Ø  Ngozi Okojo - Trouble Woman at the World Bank – An article from the Financial Times’ interview with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a managing director at the World Bank and a former government minister of Nigeria, talking about her childhood, her to-do list and her inspiration.

Ø  Women and Leadership – Cherrie Blair (wife to former UK’s Prime Minister) – about Lehman Sisters and the life of being wife to a global leader

Ø  Facing the Questions – A Financial Times Interview with Pip Mc Crostie – Global Vice Chair – Ernst & Young

Ø  Women and Leadership – What do women really want from work?

Ø  Young Entrepreneurs in High School –  From yesterday’s Daily Nation on High School students making money while still that young.

Finally – we will be closing the leadership challenge soon (Day 0 ) – and most likely compiling all the group’s feedback and the various readings into a leadership manual, will that be okay with everyone?

Regards,
