Good Afternoon,

Welcome to the 3rd last Equity Leadership Challenge, which has been hosted kindly  by the Equity Group Foundation – to empower your thinking and knowledge of leadership before the August Leadership Congress. This congress will be Kenya’s, and Africa at large, largest gathering of brilliant and gifted minds – you the Equity Scholars.

 The theme for the 2011 conference is Nurturing Global Leaders .This conference is all about exploring opportunities for the next generation of leaders to engage each other  in Africa’s social-economic transformation.

As such, we invite you to grapple with the question "What will your African Leadership Legacy Be? This is the question we want answered in your group’s presentations for the upcoming conference.  It is your collective answers to this important question that will go a long way towards ensuring a bright future for our continent.

Let us have your presentations as we look forward to a great time and discussion next week.

In addition, I shared the Honor Code for all of us who have come through or are undergoing the University Sponsorship program – Could we start the debate on the same going among ourselves.

Today there are four great readings on Innovation/Entrepreneurship/Job creation and Healthy Relationships;

·         Teach Job creation at our business schools – From Mckinsey Quarterly (MQ)

·         Healthy Relationships – Teaching kids how to break up nicely – New York Times (NYT)

·         Nurturing Innovation – Elizabeth Economy – MQ

·         Africa’s Biotech Future – Calestous Juma – MQ

·         Connect Teenagers to the World of Work – Dana Goldstein – MQ

Have a pleasant evening,

Dr. Muthee
