Good Morning,

To be a great leader – you must inspire, motivate, govern, collaborate and negotiate – No mean feat unless you have communication skills.

In learning to communicate;

·         Get trained up – learn how to ask and answer questions

·         Keep in touch – keep others informed about the team’s future and any other regular updates

·         Be available – whether through email, text, facebook or face to face –encourage others as you seek their contributions, concerns and challenges

Today I ask you to be street-wise and savvy – lack of formal academic qualifications in business does not meant you can’t run one and neither should it prevent you from reaching the top. Your CV should one day read of achievements, not qualifications (which each one of us will be privileged to have either way)

2 great readings to help us with the leadership challenge;

Ø  Equity Bank – A Stanford Graduate School of Business Case Study – Written by Bethany Coates

Ø  Bill Gates – Harvard 2007 Graduation Commencement Speech

Further, a bit of personal self improvement readings for all groups;

Ø  John Maxwell – People will summarize your life in one sentence

Ø  Jim Rohn - The Formula of Failure and Success

Ø  Women at the Top Of Business – Financial Times

Kind regards and do have a pleasant day,
