I think Equilibrator may still be down. The interface is working, but it comes back with no results found on all the queries I've tried.  Thanks for any help.

Indeed, there is some more fundamental problem with the service. I'm afraid it will likely take a while to fix (perhaps even 1-2 weeks).
The only alternative right now is to install and use the python interface locally (https://equilibrator.readthedocs.io/en/latest/).

I'll post another message here if and when the problem is fixed.

I'm happy to announce that we just managed to get the website back up today (and will keep monitoring to see that it doesn't crash again).

Many thanks to Robert Giessmann for helping with the patch!

For those interested, the bug was created by an update to the Zenodo API (which we use for serving a few large configuration files, also relevant for users of `equilibrator-api`).
In the next few days we will release patches to all python packages as well.

Cheers,
Elad

Thanks so much for the work getting the website back up. Any updates on the necessary patches for "equilibrator-api"? It seems unable to pull the compounds.sqlite from the updated Zenodo API. Thanks for any updates or ETAs.

The patch was released on October 19 as version 0.5.4 of equilibrator-cache.
Please, try to update that package to the latest version and try again. Perhaps it will require completely deleting the ~/.cache/equilibrator folder and trying again.
If this issue is not solved, please post the error message here or open an issue on the GitLab project: https://gitlab.com/equilibrator/equilibrator-cache/-/issues

Thanks for all the work on the new version of the api. I'd just like to inform you that the pip install still downloads the 0.4.3 version of the cache. I downloaded the files of the new version on gitlab so there is no issue but I just wanted to share.
Kind regards,
Eline

Hi Eline, this is strange. Can you please provide more details such as:
  • OS version
  • python version
  • are you using a python virtual environment? conda?
  • which command did you use exactly, e.g. "pip install equilibrator-api"?
  • was there a previously installed version of equilibrator in this environment?
Thanks,
Elad
