Dear fellow eQuilibrator users,

I would like to invite you to participate in a hackathon. You are probably a user of eQuilibrator (well, you're on this mailing list...), and this hackathon will focus on the data which underlies the training step of eQuilibrator (known as the NIST TECRDB, to some).

When we improve this training data set, we also improve the quality of the predictions made by eQuilibrator, so I hope I can motivate some of you to participate. :)

We will meet in the week of December 11th to 15th, but as we are globally distributed, it will be online and we are flexible to accommodate all our time zones, anyway.

If you are interested in joining us, you can find more info here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VJVvaO3JBi4SvgWapwKvrB9d__wx9noD-CWKurbifA0/edit

We have six very different task areas, from more curation-heavy topics ("where is new experimental data?", "how do get it into eQuilibrator"?) over more database- and community-focused areas ("create a website around the initiative", "develop a backend to run the database"). We also have dedicated tracks to improving eQuilibrator (and other computational tools, if you bring them!) and finally "advancing the science", where we want to co-develop new exciting approaches to utilize the data & tools we already have.

If you are now up to joining straight away, here you can indicate your interest: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf2PmGFSpvatLRHO55aOcnxmfl9FKUEnBVNG6283DBK5Uon5w/viewform

And, of course, feel free to reach out to me with any questions and feedback!

Thanks in advance and all the best,
   Robert
