Subject: Cycle for Survival Update Email #9 - It's A Wrap!! "Phone Tree" Activated!!! - Please forward accordinglyDear EVERYONE,
Cycle for Survival 2017 was an unbelievable success. We entered into the second decade of this life-changing event and we brought more participants, rocking playlists, event locations, events, theme rides, support riders, choreography, employee involvement, and MONEY than ever before.
Without our AMAZING employees, none of this would be possible. You led more teams, rallied more members, taught more rides, and truly brought more energy - and all of that translated to more fundraising and more treatment options for rare cancer patients.
NYC -
In a 70 hour time period, we shut down 4 clubs and transformed them into unbelievable event spaces. In those event spaces, we reserved 2,128 bikes for 84 hours of riding. We saw 111 lead and support instructors deliver thousands of pom pom pumps and hand claps to 10,651 participants. And of course, because you are watching the site you know that we have collectively raised over $33,000,000 this season....and donations are still coming in (please keep that foot on the gas through the end of March!). This year, you hosted your first ever finance ride, and turned right around to deliver a Media and Technology ride. You also hosted an after party and STILL had things in perfect Equinox shape for participants the next day (Thank you Bryant Park maintenance team - you were STELLAR!)
SHOUTOUTS -
There are too many amazing stories to list. NYC CRUSHED this event and every single person who showed up, taught, support rode, captained teams, stocked toilet paper, worked front desk, danced, massaged, stretched, and spoke on behalf of Equinox made this the most successful year we've ever had at Cycle for Survival. Special thanks to people like Michael Caporusso (who support rode and spoke at UES) and Scott Placona (who shuts his club down for 4 FULL days and never complains and ALWAYS HITS ANYWAY!) and employees from PURE who taught and supported, and our corporate team support riders (Caitlin, CK, Nick, Catey, Gisela) who CRUSHED it! Manny and Ricardo for flawlessly maneuvering and establishing a new wifi network so that they could brag about Equinox and Cycle for Survival on Social. Gian Pozzolini - riding, cheering, and checking in constantly to make sure everything was going smoothly and Gerard, Tracey, and Kristy for helping with last minute adjustments and shifts so that our instructor teams were truly the best they could be. Our over the top supportive GM's Allison, Adam, Christopher and Scott for making planning so easy, and Edwin and Craig transferring in last minute, but doing it seamlessly. I can't thank the NYC GFM team enough for running around from club to club hosting and checking on their instructors. And of course that brings us to our amazing instructors.....YOU WERE BREATHTAKING!!! Every location reported that "this was the best year yet". Participants were floored. And in the words of Katie Klein, "I don't know how to improve on this next year". YOU GUYS ROCKED!!!
So from the bottom of my overly grateful heart, I thank each and every one of you for helping us beat rare cancers. Yes, that seems like a monumental goal, but we are a pretty unstoppable team.
THANK YOU!
