I don’t think this group is the right place.  Yes, there is a lot of progress being made.  The effort is being led (as of this year) by the European Digital Reading Lab (EDRL) (http://edrlab.org/edrlab/), which is a joint venture of the IDPF, Readium and funded largely by the French government.  The CTO of the Lab is Laurent Le Meur  <laurent...@edrlab.org>  I would suggest you reach out to him.
