[IDX] face-to-face

This thread is to discuss the possibility of having a meeting “around” the IDPF/BEA conference in New York.

The IDPF portion is June 4-5 and the BEA is June 4-7 (Monday-Thursday).

 

So who could meet Sunday 6/3 or who feels 6/8 works better.

 

My preference is to meet 6/3 so the days I’m there are shorter.

I would very much like to do this but I'm not sure if I can. Whether or not I
will be able to depends on a lot of things but the specific date isn't one of
them, so either works for me.

Yes at minimum at meeting on 6/4 or 5 no matter if the f2f coalesces or not is a good idea.

 

Markus, knowing the schedule those days can you suggest a time with minimal conflicts?

I can’t meet on 6/8. I would prefer not to meet a full day on 6/3, but I could meet on 6/3 late in the day for a short time. I have an unbelievable bunch of commitments all cruching in at the same time, both right before and right after these two meetings. Frankly, my real preference would be to meet ON an available time Mon-Thurs, when I will be there anyway. I am speaking at IDPF but can certainly miss some of BEA so meeting Wed 6/6 would be my STRONG preference, since I will need to make a flight back home on Thursday afternoon.

I guess it would be helpful to know what the expectation for the meeting is.

Originally Markus discussed with us having WG meeting for a couple days to work through issues.

That isn’t going to be happening around the IDPF/BEA meeting obviously.

 

If it is just meet and greet then I’m for either a late afternoon Sun / dinner event, or something out of the Mon or Tue session.

Wed morning is a possibility. Not sure how much past Tue I’ll be there.

There’s a speakers dinner for IDPF on Sunday night so I couldn’t be available for the meet-and-greet then (though late afternoon on Sunday would work). Otherwise these times would work for me, as long as they worked around the IDPF Digital Book schedule.—Bill K
