Dear EPUB WG,

After IDPF Board approval earlier this week, IDPF member voting has begun on a motion to approve EPUB 3.1. Primary Representatives have been notified via email. Voting will be open through Jan 3. More info: http://idpf.org/news/voting-underway-to-approve-epub-31-update.

Congratulations to the WG and all the many contributors on completion of a very important update, especially to EPUB WG co-chairs Tzviya Siegman and Garth Conboy, co-chair emeritus Markus Gylling, and all of the specification Editors including especially editor-in-chief Matt Garrish.

As a reminder, IDPF is requesting organizations that made substantive contributions to EPUB (in any version) to authorize (by December 21) being included as a co-submitter along with IDPF of the prospective submission of EPUB 3.1  to W3C that would occur as part of the planned combination of IDPF and W3C. This will be an important part of facilitating the ongoing development of both EPUB 3 and future work within W3C and ensuring that EPUB and publishing features for the Web are free and open for all. More information: http://idpf.org/news/request-for-contributors-to-co-sign-idpf-epub-31-submission-to-w3c . If your organization has already provided an authorization, thank you very much. If not, your help on this is requested (and if you have any questions please get in touch).

Thanks!

--Bill
