I can read Yiddish, and understand some words as it is close enough to German :-)

Yiddish is strange language, it took the Hebrew alphabet which has no vowels  (only 22 letters) and used some of the letters as vowels and for someone like me who is used to reading Hebrew, it seems somewhat strange to read it.
