My Montserrat font is not showing the correct style. It is just normal. But if I add the style in the link it is going to work but I don't want the same style for everything. Like this:

The old Google Fonts system is long gone. Now you need to add font weight. The font family changed to default name. No extra things need to be added or changed but you need font weight to show very bold or Black style

I'm using kpfonts in the thesis for its light variant. I don't really like its sans serif variant, though, since it's too bold and doesn't blend well with the light serif font. Looking for another sans serif font, I've found the Montserrat font, which is really nice in its light option, and looks really good for all caps titles in the extralight variant.

The problem is that the montserrat package does not provide any math support, so if I write any \mathsf in math formulas, I get the kpfonts sans serif math font. On the other hand, letters and numbers from Montserrat look very well also in math mode (in the rare cases one wants to render sans serif math).

EDIT: note that the Montserrat font itself does not appear to have greek glyphs not any math-related feature. However, if you look at the sans serif math font from kpfonts, you'll notice the only real difference is in numbers and latin letters, so greek letters and other symbols do not appear different in normal math mode and in \mathsf, and for me this is ok. So really to achieve what I want I only need to swap the glyphs for numbers and latin letters.

I have specified the correct CSS file in my HTML file to download the Montserrat font but it is not getting applied at all when I view HTML in my Chrome browser. I have tried moving my styles.css file in different locations but it makes no difference. The Montserrat font is not being applied instead it is a default serif font I think. Any help to get the Montserrat font to render would be greatly appreciated.

Currently, Squarespace only allows you to choose between 400 and 700 for the Montserrat typeface. When I use the CSS editor and type in "h1 font-family: "Montserrat"; font-weight: 600;, it either changes it to 700, or 400 if I put type in "500".

Hi, I'm struggling with the same issue but can't find the solution following the steps you provided above. Should I choose another font in the design panel than Montserrat to be able to access other font weight ? So far my css code doesn't change anything. (the header has been correctly already updated).

I have the same issue with Montserrat on a Windows 10 computer. I have the most recent, static version of Montserrat from fonts.google.com. No character settings were changed. I haven't had this issue with other Google Fonts I use, like Open Sans and Roboto.

Those are the overlaps and looped corners used when creating fonts from multiple masters sources so the different styles interpolate properly.
When Google Fonts uses their tools to build the fonts, they leave these overlaps in.
Their position is that applications should handle this properly.

Static fonts in the original font developer repository usually remove the overlaps when they are generating the fonts from their font editor (they just check a box to remove the overlaps on export).
This is why the static fonts from the original Montserrat repo have no overlaps.

During the course of her studies, she realised that these letterforms were not as common as they once had been, so she felt compelled to "rescue the beauty of urban typography" through a new font under a free and open source license.[2]

For its financing, the project was launched in the Kickstarter website in 2011, and was crowdfunded by anonymous backers. The typeface was published in Google Fonts the same year.[4] Eventually, it became the third most popular font on the platform, gathering over 2.7 trillion views as of September 2023.[5]

Montserrat has gained popularity as a free alternative to other similar sans-serif fonts, such as Gotham or Avenir.[7] Although mainly seen in websites and online media, its high readability and ease of scaling make Montserrat a suitable typeface for printed material, such as brochures, signage and even books (as can be seen in the "Científicas de Acá" acknowledgements.)[8]

In 2018, with the release of the 2018-2024 Graphic Identity Manual for the Presidential Office of Mexico, Montserrat became the official font for documentation, presentations and publicity for the Government of Mexico.[9]

In 2015, a set of some weights and italics were developed by Ulanovsky, Ale Paul, Carolina Giovagnoli, Andrés Torresi, Juan Pablo del Peral and Sol Matas. In November 2017, the font family was redrawn by Jacques Le Bailly to include a full set of weights, and to adjust the regular set for a better use in longer text.[4]

What happened to Google's Montserrat font in Safari on macOS Big Sur and iOS 14? It does not display correctly. In all other applications and other browsers, this font looks correct, but in Safari it is replaced by a font with a completely different style.

Apple has always (always!) Paid special attention to fonts, but the problem is it's a Safari bug. Montserrat font works correctly in Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, Opera Ya.Browser, etc. It is displayed incorrectly only in Safari, from which I can conclude that the developers (engineers) of Apple made a mistake, and if this font is displayed incorrectly, there are probably problems with other fonts. And the one who made them should correct mistakes. Montserrat is one of the most used fonts on the web.

The desired outcome is to be able to create documents within Microsoft 365 Office apps for the web (eg Word ) with their font of choice that is similar to Montserrat (for consistency with previously created documents).

The only real downside to this is that you need to know the exact names of the fonts so you can type them in manually. You also need to type the exact name with no spelling mistakes, or it won't work. Note that anyone else viewing the file will also need to install the fonts locally on their computer. Such is life though!!

Select the font type, size etc, and then make sure you select the library version Adafruit GFX font. Then copy that to your clipboard and paste into a text editor (I used Textedit) and save this as a dot h file and import it into your Arduino project.

Make sure you then get the exact name of the font file which can be found at the very bottom of the .h file you created and using the TFT-eSPI.h library, use this in your code similarly as in the following statements;

That of course is the name of the font file in my code which is obtained right at the bottom of the .h file you created from the site above. You use whichever the name of the font file is in your code.

Hello Christine
you can do what ever you want about fonts in font manager. for your problem you can build new font with large size in this tab. NOTE: first of all you should add your favorite font in the asset folder

Always make sure to read the license for each font you use. Most of the fonts in the collection use the SIL Open Font License, v1.1. Some fonts use the Apache 2 license. The Ubuntu fonts use the Ubuntu Font License v1.0.

If you have any suggestions or ideas to improve the performance of font loading or expand the existing library, feel free to star and contribute to this repository. You can share your suggestions or ideas by creating an issue.

I converted the montserrat.tff file to woff and woff2 on -to-woff then uploaded the file woff and woff2 file to assets folder, and posted this to theme.scss.liquid to see if it would work to the login page -boutique.myshopify.com/account/login , but the codes below didn't work:

But when the slides are created in Articulate with Montserrat ultra light font (This font was not inbuilt in Articulate, and was imported) it gave an extremely light appearance. PFA the screenshot namely "Montserrat Ultra light. Any idea what could be the reason and any solution? ("Montserrat" again works fine.)

You can embed fonts in Microsoft PowerPoint presentations so others can edit text even if they don't have the same fonts installed on their computers. However, Articulate Storyline doesn't support these embedded fonts when importing PowerPoint content.

@Sara_H yeah, it's not my fave, but there are few others like it (montserrat being the other!) when font pairing with a handwriting font! I prefer the grungy marker type fonts (but those only work for certain instances!)

2. Unlike Word processors, bold is not an available option when editing text in Nitro. For example, if you are using Calibri and you want to make a section bold, you have to swap to the 'Calibri-Bold' font. To do this, click on the Edit tool, then select the text. The format tab will appear and here you can change the font type using the dropdown menu. Kindly refer to the screenshot attached.
