Good day!

Im trying to Migrate  our old Eprints Repository (lot of records on it) to latest version but up to now i dont have any success in doing it.  esp when i used the flavour.

I tried to install 3.4.4  (zero) first and migrate my old database and repository, it works for a while but when i reload the configuration, and search for record its shows the title but when i click it, it says file not found.

Im looking for a detailed Migration tutorial for Eprints v3.3.16 to Eprints latest version with records ..

Wish someone can help me.

Thank you!

Hi Zen,
For this type of technical question, it is best to ask on the EPrints Tech List (see details here: https://wiki.eprints.org/w/Contact).

This page: https://wiki.eprints.org/w/Upgrading_3.3.12%2B_to_3.4 is the best guide for upgrading.

If you've gone through all the steps listed in the above, I would check:
- are you being redirected between http and https

- what URL format is your repository using (the old standard was e.g. https://example.org/1234/ The new standard is https://example.org/id/eprint/1234/ . What format are the broken links in? This should work OK and be handled properly.

- Can the webserver (apache) write to the directory [EPRINTS_ROOT]/archives/[ARCHIVE_ID]/html/[LANGUAGE]/archive/ ?

There should be a page in the above directory for each live eprint. For the English landing page for EPrint number 1234, the file would be: [EPRINTS_ROOT]/archives/[ARCHIVEID]/html/en/archive/00/00/12/34/index.html

Hopefully that starts to help!

Cheers,

John
