Hi Leah – I am unsure whether it is really possible to make specific assessments about UKRI PID expectations for EPrints at this point. This is because the UKRI policy documentation was vague about those expectations (e.g. UKRI do not yet assign PIDs for the grants they assign…) and because further technical information from UKRI is now expected later in the summer.
Having said that, I imagine the general expectation will be to use PIDs wherever reasonably possible, which is what we are working towards at Strathclyde. This can mostly be satisfied through a combination of the DataCite, IDs-IDs-IDs, Rioxx, ORCID plugins. OpenAIRE compliance on its own will not be sufficient to meet the requirements, as vague as they are at the moment.
