E-portfolios Community of Practice – June event
 
A free online event is looking at how e-portfolios can support workforce development and lifelong learning.
 
The VET E-portfolios Community of Practice (EpCoP) session is being held on Friday 24 June at 12.30pm (AEST) through Blackboard Collaborate.
 
It will feature the two 2011 E-portfolios Implementation Trials (EITs), which have been funded and supported by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework).
 
Ken Johnson, from Victoria University, will talk about the Scaffolding VCAL learners with e-portfolios EIT, which investigated how the PebblePad e-portfolio system can support a new integrated delivery model for the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and how the e-portfolio helped learners create a digital resume to enhance their employment prospects.
 
Ray Tuckey, from Great Southern Institute of Technology, Western Australia, will talk about the E-portfolios for Trainers EIT, which used the Mahara e-portfolio system to help trainers record their own skills and learning, demonstrating their training complies with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF), and to investigate different ways of learning and assessing using an e-portfolio approach.
