Christmas came early for me this year! What an incredible gifts it is
for me to have the privilege of serving as your priest at St.
Nicholas’ Episcopal Church! Thanks to everyone who helped make my
ordination service such a very special event! Your participation in
the service and the reception that followed are gifts that I will
treasure for the rest of my life. I can’t wait to see (and wear!) the
beautiful new stole you have ordered for me.
I hope you will be able to attend our Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m.
and/or our Christmas Day service at 6 p.m. Mark David will be our
guest musician on Christmas Eve. A nursery will be available at both
services.
Please remember the family of Ms. Betty Morley in your prayers. Ms.
Betty passed away last Saturday at Home Hospice in Little Rock. Her
funeral will be held Wednesday, December 21 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross
Episcopal Church in West Memphis. Fr. Robert McCaslin at Holy Cross
will be presiding at the service and I will be preaching and
assisting.
A big THANK YOU is due Bobby and Debbie Rawn for hosting the St.
Nicholas’ Christmas Party last Saturday at their lovely home. It can
truly be said that “a good time was had by all!”
If you haven’t had a chance yet to check out our storage room at First
Christian, please do so the next time you are at church. Mazie
donated a new cabinet and Rosanna spent most of Sunday afternoon
moving all of our “stuff” into it. It was a big job but it sure will
make a difference in keeping everything organized.
If you haven’t yet had the chance to view our light display in the
park, please take some time to do so. Chuck and company did a great
job. This is a great way to keep our presence before the community.
Shortly after the first of the year we will have an important
congregational meeting. With all the fun activities lately, we’ve had
very little time for taking care of the “business” of the church.
Important items on our agenda include reviewing our financial status,
the appointment of a Bishop’s committee (which basically functions as
a vestry) and moving forward with our Visitor Packets as well as
setting the date for an all day (on a Saturday) church retreat.
Finally, don’t forget to invite family and friends to attend church
with you!

Blessings,
Ray +

Do we have an address for condolence cards for Mrs. Betty's family?
