to St. Nicholas' Episcopal Church
Dear St. Nicholas’ Family and Friends,
This week during worship we will be observing All Saints Day. Lisa
will be presiding at the Eucharist and I will be preaching. One of
the highlights of our service will be a reading of the names of loved
ones you provided. Their names will be listed in the bulletin and
will be read during the service.
Guest musician, Mark David will be providing music during our prelude,
offering and communion. Mark is a classical guitarist and singer who
has played many venues in Little Rock and surrounding areas. He will
be playing a set of songs for the Prelude and will start playing about
10 minutes before six o’clock. I am confident you will find his music
to be an inspirational start to our worship. Our pianist, Dianne
Mattison will be back with us this week and will be accompanying our
hymns, all of which draw our attention to the theme of remembering
those “saints” who have blessed our lives.
Following worship we will have a meeting to discuss several exciting
upcoming events in our life as a congregation. Among things to be
discussed are: our Christmas display in the park, our first annual
“Be Ye Thankful” cookout on November 20th, the bishop’s visit on
December 4th, the St. Nicholas’ celebration on December 7th, the
collecting of pledge cards for support of our 2012 budget, my
ordination on December 12th,, initial plans for an all church half-day
retreat sometime in January and the support of our mission which is
the Dick Johnson summer camp for children whose parents are
incarcerated.
I’m very excited about all of these upcoming events and our continued
growth in God’s grace as we move forward in service to Him, one
another and the broader community.
This would be a wonderful Sunday to invite a friend to church!
See You Sunday,
Ray
