Greetings All -
Here are the highlights from the meeting today:
1. The Bishop's Committee is as follows, with terms:
David Oliver and Katrina Biddulph-Weed - 1 year term expiring
in January 2013
Rosanna Henry-Loket and Debbie Rawn (Senior Warden) - 2 year
term expiring in January 2014
Charles Starratt and Peggy Cromwell (Junior Warden) - 3 year
term expiring in January 2015
2. We have been designated as a "mission station" of the Diocese. We
can apply for mission status at the 2013 Diocesan Convention.
3. We will have a Planning/Vision Meeting on Saturday, February 4, to
brainstorm/plan/organize events throughout the coming year. Anyone may
attend this meeting. The Bishop's Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m.,
with the Planning Meeting to follow at 10:00. We will have lunch
provided. Planning will continue after lunch as needed. Please plan to
join us for all or part of the meeting as you are able. All we will
need is a count for lunch. Even if you cannot attend the entire day,
come for whatever portion you can.
4. Lenten Activities - Ash Wednesday is February 22.
Our annual Soup Suppers on the Wednesday evenings during Lent
will begin on February 29 and run through
March 28. A sheet will be available for you to signup at
church. Soup suppers will start at 6:30 and be done
8:00 p.m. We encourage you to join us and bring your friends.
5. Ray's Work Schedule
Ray will be dividing his time between Presbyterian Village and
St. Nicholas. His days/times devoted to St.
Nicholas will be Sunday evenings, all day Mondays, Wednesday
evenings, and all day Fridays. Other times
he will be at Presbyterian Village. Saturdays will be his off
days.
6. Expansion of Child Care Activities
Katie England explained that she and Molly Stitsworth hoped to
have some additional monthly children's activities in the
future. These include Family Nights - for families with kids 12 and
under - with activities during the week; and Parents' Night Out -
childcare for $20 per kid with a $50 max.
7. Rosanna Henry-Loket presented the financial report. She will send
out a summary later.
8. We are trying to update our contact information on folks and create
a church directory. A sheet will be circulated at church to get people
updated. You can also send your information to Debbie Rawn. Please
include your name, address, phone number(s), and email address(es).
Much more information will be forthcoming after the Planning Meeting
on Feb. 4. If you have any questions, let us know. If you're on this
list and haven't seen us in a while, we encourage you to come on back.
We still meet at 6:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church building on
Club Manor in Maumelle. Find us on Facebook at St. Nicholas Episcopal
Church.
Respectfully submitted,
Peggy Cromwell
