Monday's Taize reading

Hi all,
I really like the brief reading on the Taize site for Monday, because
I'm increasingly aware of the ways in which faith in Jesus is faith in
the Lord God, or God the Father, and that faith in God is the real
goal for me. Part of the reason I'm feel that way is related to the
production of Mendelssohn's Elijah by the MU Choral Union and the
parallels I see between it and our current situation as a culture/
society. It seems to me that we have many secular "priests" who to try
to tell us to put faith in "other gods," such as our consumer, energy
dependent economy. And like the Baal worshippers, we sometimes
sacrifice our young people to these gods. But if we would put our
faith in God-is-love/love-is-God, we might be in unity with God's
abundance and love and need less of the consumer stuff. And we might
find creative ways to help others need less, too.

Barbara,

Sorry to bother you, but could you change my email on the Episcopal Bible
Discussion group to evdo...@gmail.com. I think there is something about
having a gmail account but being registered to a Google Group with a
different email account that restricts me from editing the account myself.
I am hoping to use the Advent season as a boost to increase my involvement
here.
