Jesus, knowing that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father, having loved those who were his in the world, now loved them to the end.
Jn 13:1-15

I have been learning a lot and I wonder, since this is all so new to me, if I perhaps listen more and think more about what I hear than others in church on Sunday.  I remember our priest last year in Pueblo speaking to how Jesus wanted out and cried to God and was reminded his job was to follow through to completion the task before him.

I think any one of us, knowing we have a death sentence, would be challenged.  In my experience with cancer patients, however, I was honored to know several shining examples.  One thing I learned in my 9 years in a suipport group, is we generally die as we live.

All I can do, knowing my ending will come but not yet knowing when the hour will be, is try to live with the ability to love and share as much as possible.  I believe that my own life is so very enriched when I can reach out to others.

Love can be intense and all encompassing, as it is with my wonderful family, but even with friends, acquaintences and people merely passing through, it can be given in terms of attention and respect and desire for to share joy.
