Hi All,

I talked to Terry and did some furious calculating.......and found out we only actually *need* 25 men in each group for our pilot study if we still believe that there will be a 1/3 improvement.  However, I propose, we start with 50 participants in each group.  For our paper we can cite the following reasons 1) this allows room for attrition in the groups which would be the case in a real study and 2) this allows for significant margin of error in case we do not see a 1/3 improvement, we may still be able to find a (smaller) statistically significant improvement.

Now that I've gotten reacquainted with our good friend Bernard Rosner... I'd be happy to do some more of the number crunching for the paper.  I remember Erin saying that she could then take the numbers and make graphs?

Let's check in soon about all of this.  Unfortunately, I'm unable to attend class tonight.....  But, I'm happy to check in via email.  Also, I understand today is the last day of research methodology?  Can we meet before class next week to continue moving forward on this project?

Best,

Sarah
