Why is this here?

The transition to an electronic medical records (EMR) system at Shands Hospital at UF is an important step forward. It should enable better communication between physicians, physician extenders, nurses, house-staff and others involved in patient care.

It will also pose issues and difficulties. Some may be easy to find solutions to fix, some may require innovative thinking to identify ways to accomplish what needs to be accomplished, and others may just require admitting that what we used to be able to do in a paper-based system can't be accomplished with our new EMR system, EPIC.

The purpose of this "Group" is to provide a forum in which to post questions, comments, ideas or other thoughts about getting EPIC to "do" what we "need done."
