I have a couple of people who are interested in coming in to
Ephemerisle for a day trip. Would anyone with a small boat be willing
to go the 2.5 miles to King Island Resort to pick them up in the
morning and drop them off in the evening?

I also have various people who will be on my houseboat but aren't
arriving until later in the day. If you're launching on Friday
5pm-8pm, would it be possible to give them a ride?

Luke and I are also seeking transportation to our houseboat but we'll
be arriving around 6pm- 7pm on Friday night.

Please connect your members with us to see if we can coordinate
something.

Also, does anyone know if we can park on W. Rindge Rd and just "swim"
or row ourselves out to the houseboats? Or do we definitely need to
park at a docking station?

Ridge Road is on a private island, and there are all kinds of harsh
"no tresspassing" signs on the bridge leading across to it. I would
not recommend it, unfortunately.

We have a raft to assemble that is 16 feet long, and it would need to be assembled on the shore just next to the water.  Do we assemble it at one of the launches and have it towed?  I read that there will be towing available.  Where is the best place for someone to drive in with 2 truckloads of wood and assemble a raft at the shoreline, that can then be hauled out to the spot?  The raft is already constructed, it would be a 2 hour process of putting boards in place and securing them.  Looking at Google Maps, we had previously thought we could build the raft on the shoreline just parallel to the central platform site, but it sounds like that's not practical, as it's private land.   What about the shoreline along N Zuckerman Rd.?

Obviously, we can have it towed from one of the launches, we're just a little worried about the integrity of the raft being hauled that distance.  We'll be able to make repairs if it comes to it, just wanted to see if you guys saw any spots when you were speccing the place out that would be good potential build spots.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Trea,

I will followup with some details privately, but briefly for everyone else's benefit too...

- Zuckerman Road is also on a private island.  The closest road you can get to the event site is probably somewhere on Empire Tract.  However, most of the shore of these delta islands are not a gentle, smooth slope into the water, but a steep, rocky levee, several feet high on both sides.  It would be difficult and potentially dangerous to launch a heavy structure this way.

- We had a note on the website for a while about offering towing services, with an e-mail address to contact for reservations, but we recently cancelled plans for this after receiving no requests.  That said, there will be lots of helpful community members at the festival, some of whom will have their own boats...

- Shorelines are limited.  You generally need a launch, and launches generally work by having a craft on a trailer that you back into the water until the craft is floating... it is tough to find build space next to the water.  I will contact you separately with some ideas.

James
