Based on epidemiological data, it is believed that human-to-human transmission plays an important role in Nipah virus outbreaks. No experimental data are currently available on the potential routes of human-to-human transmission of Nipah virus. In a first dose-finding experiment in Syrian hamsters, it was shown that Nipah virus was predominantly shed via the respiratory tract within nasal and oropharyngeal secretions. Although Nipah viral RNA was detected in urogenital and rectal swabs, no infectious virus was recovered from these samples, suggesting no viable virus was shed via these routes. In addition, hamsters inoculated with high doses shed significantly higher amounts of viable Nipah virus particles in comparison with hamsters infected with lower inoculum doses. Using the highest inoculum dose, three potential routes of Nipah virus transmission were investigated in the hamster model: transmission via fomites, transmission via direct contact and transmission via aerosols. It was demonstrated that Nipah virus is transmitted efficiently via direct contact and inefficiently via fomites, but not via aerosols. These findings are in line with epidemiological data which suggest that direct contact with nasal and oropharyngeal secretions of Nipah virus infected individuals resulted in greater risk of Nipah virus infection. The data provide new and much-needed insights into the modes and efficiency of Nipah virus transmission and have important public health implications with regards to the risk assessment and management of future Nipah virus outbreaks.

Melissa Owens Miller (born June 30, 1963), known professionally as Emme, is an American plus-size model, social reformer and body image advocate. Emme gained worldwide fame as the first full-figured model chosen for People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People, first in 1994, then for a second time in 1999. Emme is largely recognized in the 1990s as the leading model in the profession, as well as its highest earner.[1][2]

Emme's sister Melanie is also a model.[5] Emme married Phillip Aronson in 1989 and moved to New Jersey. In 2001, Emme's daughter Toby was born. She separated from her husband in 2007, and later finalized her divorce in 2008.[2][6] Emme's daughter Toby Cole was recently in Teen Vogue and is signed at IMG Models.[7]

The 'Public Assistance (PA) Applicants - Delivery Model' dataset includes data from the FEMA PA Grants Manager/Grants Portal system. In 2016, FEMA developed this two-part platform as a new information technology system to document PA projects in formulation with a seamless transition to grant obligation. This dataset includes all active subrecipients/applicants, and summarizes their projects by their status in the PA national delivery model process. The PA delivery model data differs from other dataset as it specifies in what phase current grants are in and this can be time sensitive to the public. It will also provide the phase for better context into the Grants Awards activity which is focused on only awarded Grants.

I am using MIB for segmentation of a mrc file created in IMOD. After segmentation, I save the model file in .mod format and need to continue to work on the files in IMOD. However, when I open files in IMOD, the orientation of the segmentation is incorrect and no longer corresponds with the structures in the image. The image orientation is the same in MIB and IMOD. The segmentation appears to be flipped over the x-axis for each 2D image.

Hi Emmie,
it may be the case. You just need to flip x-axis before exporting the model (Menu->Dataset->Transform-> Flip horizontally). Please note, however, that export to IMOD is quite limited and complex structures may not be properly exported.
If you need it for visualization, I would recommend to test some other software. For example, tomviz ( ) or slicer3d ( )

As large-scale pre-trained AI models gain popularity in the West, many Chinese AI labs have developed their own models capable of generating coherent text and realistic images and videos. These models represent the frontier of AI research and have significant implications for AI ethics and governance in China. Yet, to the best of our knowledge, there has been no in-depth English-language analysis of such models. Studying a sample of 26 large-scale pre-trained AI models developed in China, our review describes their general capabilities and highlights the role of collaboration between the government, industry, and academia in supporting these projects. It also sheds light on Chinese discussions related to techno-nationalism, AI governance, and ethics.

Large pre-trained language models have shown promise for few-shot learning, completing text-based tasks given only a few task-specific examples. Will models soon solve classification tasks that have so far been reserved for...

The chair offers good comfort, good looks, good size, and attractive price point. The manufacturer included some mismatched hardware, but I called QW and they sent out the correct screws the same day! I know that PU "leather" doesn't wear like genuine leather, but the new chair won't be used as often as our other genuine leather euro recliners. Our daughter has a similar model to this one, and it is very comfortable. So I order the chair and am not disappointed. The QW staff offer outstanding service. We couldn't be happier.

Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, caused by the MERS coronavirus (MERS-CoV), continues to cause severe respiratory disease with a high case fatality rate. To date, potential antiviral treatments for MERS-CoV have shown limited efficacy in animal studies. Here, we tested the efficacy of the broad-acting antiviral remdesivir in the rhesus macaque model of MERS-CoV infection. Remdesivir reduced the severity of disease, virus replication, and damage to the lungs when administered either before or after animals were infected with MERS-CoV. Our data show that remdesivir is a promising antiviral treatment against MERS that could be considered for implementation in clinical trials. It may also have utility for related coronaviruses such as the novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV emerging from Wuhan, China.

Lots of girls want to get into modelling. Many are being exploited by unscrupulous people posing as bogus model agents. On the false promise of a successful modelling career, girls as young as 15 are spending up to 500 on portfolios of pictures that are useless.

Unless as part of an officially advertised competition, Tess Management does not use any social networking sites to scout for potential models. If anyone claims to be from Tess Management but does not give you an email address in the form of: in...@tessmanagement.com then they are NOT from Tess Management.

Hello, and welcome to my port! I have good experience in various areas of modelling, and have a hard working and determined attitude. I believe photography is an art, and like to create that as I shoot. I have a good sense of humour, creative and professional.

We remain largely without effective prophylactic/therapeutic interventions for COVID-19. Although many human COVID-19 clinical trials are ongoing, there remains a deficiency of supportive preclinical drug efficacy studies to help guide decisions. Here we assessed the prophylactic/therapeutic efficacy of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), a drug of interest for COVID-19 management, in 2 animal disease models. The standard human malaria HCQ prophylaxis (6.5 mg/kg given weekly) and treatment (6.5 mg/kg given daily) did not significantly benefit clinical outcome, nor did it reduce SARS-CoV-2 replication/shedding in the upper and lower respiratory tract in the rhesus macaque disease model. Similarly, when used for prophylaxis or treatment, neither the standard human malaria dose (6.5 mg/kg) nor a high dose (50 mg/kg) of HCQ had any beneficial effect on clinical disease or SARS-CoV-2 kinetics (replication/shedding) in the Syrian hamster disease model. Results from these 2 preclinical animal models may prove helpful in guiding clinical use of HCQ for prophylaxis/treatment of COVID-19.

I'm SMH at Jennifer Lauren Handmade's Emmie Tee. It claims to have cup sizes going up to F, but the samples don't fit the bust of either model. It looks like the bust point is too high on both models. The cut on sleeves doen't help either.

Since the emergence of SARS-CoV-2, five different variants of concern (VOCs) have been identified: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Omicron. Because of confounding factors in the human population, such as preexisting immunity, comparing severity of disease caused by different VOCs is challenging. Here, we investigate disease progression in the rhesus macaque model upon inoculation with the Delta, Omicron BA.1, and Omicron BA.2 VOCs. Disease severity in rhesus macaques inoculated with Omicron BA.1 or BA.2 was lower than those inoculated with Delta and resulted in significantly lower viral loads in nasal swabs, bronchial cytology brush samples, and lung tissue in rhesus macaques. Cytokines and chemokines were up-regulated in nasosorption samples of Delta animals compared to Omicron BA.1 and BA.2 animals. Overall, these data suggest that, in rhesus macaques, Omicron replicates to lower levels than the Delta VOC, resulting in reduced clinical disease.

SARS-CoV-2 primarily replicates in mucosal sites, and more information is needed about immune responses in infected tissues. Here, we used rhesus macaques to model protective primary immune responses in tissues during mild COVID-19. Viral RNA levels were highest on days 1-2 post-infection and fell precipitously thereafter. 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-avid lung abnormalities and interferon (IFN)-activated monocytes and macrophages in the bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) were found on days 3-4 post-infection. Virus-specific effector CD8+ and CD4+ T cells became detectable in the BAL and lung tissue on days 7-10, after viral RNA, radiologic evidence of lung inflammation, and IFN-activated myeloid cells had substantially declined. Notably, SARS-CoV-2-specific T cells were not detectable in the nasal turbinates, salivary glands, and tonsils on day 10 post-infection. Thus, SARS-CoV-2 replication wanes in the lungs of rhesus macaques prior to T cell responses, and in the nasal and oral mucosa despite the apparent lack of antigen-specific T cells, suggesting that innate immunity efficiently restricts viral replication during mild COVID-19.
