My guild has recently started using EPGP. Beforehand we used DKP, so
when we started using this new system I had to transfer all the points
over, DKP that is, into EP on the new system to make everyone happy.
We currently award people with the following values:
EP: 20 per boss
GP: 1 per item looted
I would rather go for the traditional way of how you all use ratios
per value of epgp. I know what I'm using is wrong. This is what our
table looks like to so far:

It seems when we use GP for items, 1 gp seems too lenient and 4 is a
bit harsh, as someone with the most value can go straight to the
bottom of the pile, then again if they loot 1 item they stay in the
top 10, maybe that's fair?
Either way, I don't know what the hell I'm doing or what values I
should be using, I've seen 1000's on spreadsheets. Also when I loot
and item it gives me and option of e.g. 560-760 GP award this amount
of GP. So I know my values will be way out. If someone can give me
some values for what ep and gp I should be using that would be great.
These were the old DKP values which I used to transfer over:
Name Balance ▾
Artisian 25
Arkoneden 40
Hellraver 45
Fady 55
Poyz 65
Pharaunm 65
Fondus 65

Metaborn 102
Hektic 113
Giannakis 127

Atomo 175
Snebold 225
Netherfrost 235
Robineff 245

DKP History
I know this a really convoluted post, so please ask me any specific
questions you can in order to make things clearer.
Cheers,
Ek
we have been using EPGP for over a year now, I run a very large
raiding guild. EPGP alsways uses ratios so if you use it you are
automatically doing this. If you switch from a DKP system you should
take the DKP perhaps as a starting priority, but after that its not
really feasible to do the add-subtract DKP math with EPGP anymore.
My suggestion would be:
> Artisian 25
new 2500/100
> Arkoneden 40
new 4000/100
> Hellraver 45
new 4500/100
> Fady 55
new 5500/100
etc.
On EP:
It is better to use larger numbers for EP. This reduces rounding
errors as EPGP uses integer math. It also gives members numbers that
seem to correlate with the GP values of items, in truth though the EP
and GP numbers are decoupled because of the way the system works, so
EP values can be anything really.
So I suggest you multiply your EP by 10, i.e.: give 200 instead of 20.
Our guild gives 150 per boss kill, 100 extra per raid for progression
raids (nothing extra for farming raids). For old content (presently
thats outlands raids and naxxramas) we dont give EP. We dont use EP
for time in raids ourselves as our raiders tend to stick it out
leaving members are not an issue for us. If we did use it I would
probably award 5-8 EP every 15 minutes.
On GP:
I strongly suggest you use the Gear Point values for items instead of
1. Weapons and chest items are worth more DKP than say an offhand or
boot and this should be reflected in your GP. So weapons, chest, leg,
head, offhand, wrist, gloves,... have diminishing value in order
listed.
We use the excellent EPGPLootmaster for this, you need to turn of the
Loot option in EPGP the config for this to work properly. So EPGP
gives the EP and EPGPLootmaster handles bidding and GP allocation.
The Gear Points suggested are based on a well designed weighting
system (check wowwiki.com for details) that makes this score fair and
easy to use. It also works well with new content and patches and
scales with the raid difficulty.
Hope that helped,
Alexandra

As someone else mentioned, the EP and GP numbers are completely
independant of each other. It does not matter if you give 10 EP or
1000 EP per boss kill. As long as you are consistent with the
numbers you use, it all works out.
EPGP really is completely different from DKP. They don't mix well.
All you can do is tweak initial EP values based on your pre-existing
dkp values and go from there.
