How is loot distributed for very first raid using EPGP?

When EPGP is initially set up, how is loot sorted out during the first raid?

For example, when the very first boss is killed, I'm assuming no one would have enough EP to purchase an item. What is the recommended solution for this?

Most people do a reward system prior to the raid starting. Ie. you have x ilvl, you get x EP.
