On a side note, I myself did introduce the whisper system to my guild,
since I didn't want to do all the extra work of adding people
manually, if someone wants to earn EP, they should do something for it
imo. ;) In the beginning this wasn't met with a lot of enthousiasm,
but a guildie made a pretty nice addon to automatically whisper back:
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/epgp-slave.aspx Now
everybody is using this addon and we are one big happy guild: I don't
have to do a lot of extra work and standby's only have to type one
command once an evening. :)

If you plan to give full EP Credit to those on standby, you have two
other options for giving them the credit without them having to do
anything to earn it.
You can Shift-click them in the EPGP window. This should put a
checkmark by thier name showing they are going to get the awards.
This will stay throughout the duration of the raid.
Or, you can simply add them to another raid group. WoW Raids will
support up to 40 people, and all the raids are 25 max anymore. So,
simply add them to that 5th group. This wony prevent anyone else
from entering the instance, it will just stop letting people in the
instance at 25. This helps serve as a reminder for them also, but it
might make some others in the raid (such as healers) unhappy as it may
mess with thier raid-frames.
