Hello, all. Chaplain Chris Hannum just sent me this link to June 1 PBS documentary on this huge issue in our diocese. He's been very involved w/ organizing efforts. Our emerging young adult internship program will also have a large focus on related issues, thanks to the passionate commitment of David Purdum (husband of diocesan priest Ellen Purdum). The Episcopal Church at the national level has taken on human trafficking/sex trafficking as a major issue as well, particularly through the Office of Women's Ministries. One of "our own," Amanda Meng, parishioner at All Saints', Atlanta, and member of the diocesan MDG Task Force, has been asked by that office to be a presenter on the subject at the Everyone Everywhere 08 national global missions conference next week in Baltimore. (A dozen or so folks going from this diocese.)

So...simply FYI. Looks like the program will be a very helpful resource.
In peace,
Debbie Shew
