Hi Everyone,

Tonight Georgia is planning to execute the first person since the Supreme Court ruled a few weeks ago that lethal injection is constitutional. Please try to go to a vigil in your area tonight at 6:30 p.m. if you can. Here again are the vigils:

Tuesday, May 6

a) Death Row (Jackson)

Directions:
On I-75, take exit 201 and turn east off of the exit ramp (left if you're heading south)
Go one light down and turn left - the entrance is very close to the prison and right off the main road.
There are two truck stops on the opposite side from the prison just off the interstate.
When you arrive on the site, you will be asked if you are "for" or "against" the execution and directed to the appropriate side. They usually give out a green armband for you to wear.
Note you'll be on the grounds of the prison close to the highway, which is far from the prison itself (not in sight).

It's best to bring as little as possible. Signs are OK.

there is a lot of state and national media attention on mr. Lynd's
pending execution, especially because it's the first on the grim
national execution calendar.

we continue to pray that a stay will be awarded by the Ga. Supreme
Court, which has a request for an appeal before it.

please do come out to a vigil unless we are able to post some good
news this afternoon about a stay. we need to be visible to our
communities in georgia and to the nation that we will not tolerate
killing in our name. our state is being watched today, which makes
the vigils an especially important witness
