Dear Members of the Parole Board,
I am writing to urge you to grant clemency to a man deserving of life, Jack Alderman.
The Board of Pardons and Paroles is an extremely valuable component of the justice system. As members of the Board, you contribute mercy and grace to a system that is often unable to consider both. This Board has shown an understanding that people change in prison and that sometimes those changes are for the better. I come to you now pleading for the life of an extraordinary death row inmate – Jack Alderman.
Jack Alderman has spent the past thirty plus years on death row in Georgia. He has spent those many years as a peaceable person helping others. Jack has been a compliant and peaceful inmate, following orders and showing the utmost respect to officers and staff. He is described by Correction’s personnel as genuinely unselfish and caring. He is the type of man who makes certain every inmate on death row gets a piece of candy at Christmas, because he shares what he has with others. He is also the type of man who gives his shoes to the individual on death row needing them the most.
This world is full of selfish people, but Jack Alderman is not one of those people. He understands his responsibility to his fellow man. He is driven by his spiritual beliefs to give of himself and to make this world a better place. Jack has been a teacher and friend to fellow inmates, lawyers, ministers, Corrections staff, and people from all walks of life.
Jack Alderman has done many good things for people, and he will only continue to do such things if his life is spared. I beg you to recognize that Jack Alderman is an exceptional man, a man who can continue down his path of spirituality, compassion, and service to others. I ask that you show him mercy and grant him clemency.
Thank you for your consideration.![]()
