My problem is that AndroidStudio seems to download all the nexus repo in my laptop. The .AndroidStudio/ folder take 48Gb. If I delete this folder, the next time I open android studio everything is downloaded again.

It should NOT download everything from the repo. Just what is needed and it can't find in the local Maven repository. Gradle does not take your Maven settings file into account at all, but in your case it will download artifacts from the local repo.

The fact that so much is downloaded has nothing to do with Nexus and is completely related to the client side tooling. You might also want to configure jcenter as a proxy repository in Nexus rather than referencing it directly in the build.gradle file.

In my previous rant about the poor state of the current MacBook Pro laptops, I mentioned that there are only two USB ports in the latest models. Using an eLicenser USB dongle would take up 50% of the USB ports. We sure have much better use for the ports than a stupid license dongle.

My current eLicenser dongle already has some crackles on it. If this fragile piece of plastic shit stops working for some reason I will be forced to buy Nexus again(!!!). Its too risky. Its as if Nexus wants people to use the cracked versions instead of buying from them. Fantastic plugin but what a piece of shit company in terms of customer service.

I was just on their site to make the actual purchase for the full $4000 bundle until I saw that it required a usb dongle!? Really? Way to treat your potential customers. Since I travel often, I do not have the time to be pulling out a usb hub just so I can have it plugged in. I use a macbook pro so the ports are already used by my midi keyboard and hard drive in which I wanted to save the library in.

A quick google search, however, led me to this new usb free alternative called Lethal. It is a rompler that seems really new. Im actually downloading the demo right now, but their intro video on their site, some user video, and the fact they are giving out a free, fully functional demo with 100 sounds convinced me to give it a try. Im in no way affiliated with them, but just wanted to inform you guys who might be in a similar situation as me since they seem new.

Apparently you also get all extensions free until 2017 if you purchase. In any case, if they dont work out I will look towards Omnisphere next, but I was looking for something that I can use to find bread and butter sounds fast so i can focus on composition, not sound designing. If anyone has other potential alternatives to nexus, please let me know!

Yeah, I guess this is the way to prevent piracy. But piracy might not be as bad for them as they think. Even Adobe has admitted that pirated software actually helps to sustain their position as the de facto standard in the industry (because kids download the software first, learn to use it, get a job and then continue to use the same software), so it actually brings them more paying customers.

Do you mean to run Nexus 2 simultaneously on your MacBook Pro and desktop computer? You would need two USB eLicensers (not sure if you could use the same license on separate eLicensers, though). As you can see, the whole USB key thing is really not too handy for anyone. Using a pirated version is a whole lotta easier. Or just getting another software synth to do the job. U-he Hive and Zebra are great alternatives!

The main problem is unreliability. And using one USB port for the elicenser dongle is just stupid, as this often leads to having to use a hub, which is also usually unreliable in live situations. I would rather have all my software licenses behind an online activation system.

If software licensing is easy, convenient and not overpriced, the majority of customers will choose to buy (instead of using a pirated version). Steam has proven this, and Native Instruments is also doing a good job on their licensing software. Not to mention Ableton, which has successfully moved to online licensing years ago.

The SCENES feature allows you to switch between 8 different plugin states and connections within a preset. Change scenes manually or via MIDI for quick adaptation during live shows or studio sessions.

First of all I would like to thank Nembrini Audio for such a wonderful standalone+vst.
You can easily create a chain of vst effects and with their standalone software of Nexus you can apply these effects on your live microphone.
Best way to improve quality of your live microphone for live performance or for streaming.

I found it quite complex and confusing, I'm sure it's brilliant and very clever however.
The machado is virtually useless and I'm not able to connect midi but newbie like me e will need Youtube and time to work it out. I'm not dissatisfied in anyway I just wish it came with better instructions

I was looking for just such a solution. I wanted to be able to wire up my guitar plugins with various other plugins for some quick guitar practice without having to boot up a full DAW and Nexus met my needs. I haven't found a single plugin that fails to load or render correctly. Awesome tool!

Unfortunately we couldn't publish our artifacts from the Talend administration center (Publisher). It says "You have selected Nexus 3 as the artifact repository. This version is not supported by Publisher. To use Publisher, change the repository to Nexus 2."

The ESB publisher is deprecated and will be dropped in the future, that's why they didn't upgrade it to accept the nexus 3. So they adviced me to let the nexus 3 installed and publish from the studio, or installing the Talend CI builder and use the continuous integration way.

Your Talend Expert should either be able to help you or be getting R&D on the case immediately if this is the case. I'm afraid I have not come across this, but it sounds like a bug and should be reported.

I have this same issue. I just installed Talend 7.0.1 on a new server and Publisher wont work for me unless I change the drop down to Nexus. The default it is set to Nexus 3. Once I change it to Nexus, I can then publish from Studio on my PC up to TAC.

If your saying not to use Publish, can you explain how to use Maven from Studio and from Job Conductor? Do I have to reinstall TAC to do that? If publisher inst suggested, it really should be in the install suggesting Maven instead.

if you want to call the deploy step alone at the very end then try "mvn org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-deploy-plugin@deploy-jar-file" which invokes the "deploy-jar-file" executionid in your pom file.

Thanks for the detailed steps Sai. I have removed the existing maven deploy plugin and added the above plugin which didn't work as expected. I'm not sure whether i'm missing any dependencies. I have also updated the right URL and file but it doesn't work.

Even though i had highest privileges from Nexus to my svc account. I was still unable to upload the zip file. I have also added dependency management in the pom file and I have modified my maven command for a successful artifact upload into nexus.

Try running it with -X and see what error you are seeing. Make sure you are passing the correct serverId that you have configured in your settings.xml. Make sure the username password fields are accurate.

If possible - login to your Nexus repo and try uploading the zip using the UI itself. Worst case - see if they have an API to push it. If they do, then you can probably include a curl command in your pipeline to push it to Nexus
