Azombie killing phenomenon, The Walking Dead winter season premier is tonight on AMC, for those viewers in the US. Now in season 5, the show is known for its dramatic thriller storyline that involves a group of once strangers surviving in a post-apocalyptic environment. As the name suggests, not only does the group struggles through personal relationships, but also continuously runs from zombies.

The show easily captures an environment without standard daily life, using vast sweeping shots of vacant territories, empty vehicles, and dilapidated buildings to emphasize the current destruction of mankind. Inside, find a set of Walking Dead wallpapers inspired by the series and the destructed world that is home to zombies.

While this half-season storyline is going to be providing closure for Andrew Lincoln's time as Rick Grimes (though the producers are naturally still tight-lipped as to how he exits the show), he's still a presence in the pictures, as his time battling the undead and figuring out problems in the post-apocalyptic world is not over yet.

There's also a peek at the lives of the characters as they exist after a months-long time jump, where we catch up with them as they try to build the various communities into something resembling the launch pad for a potential new society, or whatever that will mean going forward. And some people are doing better than others, such as Melissa McBride's Carol Peletier, seen here in the midst of a romance with Ezekiel (Khary Payton).

And though the show takes place in a post-Negan world, Jeffrey Dean Morgan's chatty wannabe dictator is still around, locked in a prison cell and going through his own struggles. Plus, the remnants of his Saviors group are still looking to find a new way after he spectacularly failed to lead them to victory, with another image showing some of our regulars, including Josh McDermitt's Eugene Porter, Carol and others in the Sanctuary base.

Finally, there will be the issue of what happens with Lauren Cohan's Maggie Rhee, who has clearly given birth to the baby she was carrying and seemed set in the last episode of Season 8 to enter a moral conflict with Rick over Negan's fate. Given Cohan's commitment to another show (after a prolonged contract negotiation with US network AMC), it remains to be seen how her story plays out.

Of course, this being The Walking Dead, the peace and harmony can't last (lest the show becomes a comforting family drama with extra walkers), and the threats from both the dead and the living will still continue to haunt the survivors. The show will be back on US screens on 7 October, and will kick off again over here at 9pm via Fox on 8 October.

Four new photos released by AMC are giving fans a sneak preview of The Walking Dead's final season. The eleventh and final season is set to premiere on August 22. It will run for 24 episodes split into three 8-episode blocks according to AMC. Over the course of its run, the show has been known for gruesome imagery, fan-favorite character deaths, and incredible plot twists. Though ratings have dwindled as the seasons continued, The Walking Dead has been able to maintain a dedicated fanbase who look forward to seeing the final season.

Season 10 saw the defeat of the Whisperers, the return of Maggie, and the exile (and near immediate return) of Negan. Looking forward to season 11, the characters must now contend with the tensions within the group as well as the fall out of the Whisperers attack. In the first batch of images for The Walking Dead season 11 released by AMC, viewers got to see Maggie reuniting with her old friends, Rosita back in action, and Negan going ham on a Walker. There was also a Walking Dead season 11 synopsis, which states that one of the biggest issues facing the community of Alexandria will be food. Their supplies have been ransacked and their numbers are growing as the people of Hilltop and Maggie's group are moving in.

The new images released by AMC shed some light on this conflict, showing the characters back out in the world, possibly searching for food and supplies. One image shows a large group of people walking through what looks to be a subway tunnel, while the next one shows at least 6 walkers making their way through a deteriorating subway train. A third image shows Carol, Kelly, and Magna in the woods, possibly searching for Connie who went missing last season. Though fans know that Connie survived the cave in, her friends do not. The fourth image shows Eugene, Yumiko, Ezekiel, and Princess sitting at a table surrounded by chain-link fencing, suggesting that they are still being held by the Commonwealth.

One interesting thing to notice from the image in the subway tunnel is the fact that Maggie and Negan seem to be working together. After Negan brutally murdered Maggie's husband, it seemed like there would never be a way for them to reconcile, but perhaps they are now facing a force so great that Maggie has to put her hatred aside in order to survive. Though showrunners have confirmed that Maggie's story arc will not be completely defined by Negan, their history promises some tense scenes to come.

While The Walking Dead may be coming to an end, there is still plenty of content to look forward to, both in the upcoming season and in the spin offs. Alongside Fear The Walking Dead which is on its 6th season, audiences can soon sink their teeth into The Walking Dead: World Beyond, the Rick Grimes led movies, and a Daryl and Carol spinoff. Other actors, including Jeffery Dean Morgan (Negan), have played coy about their characters' futures, suggesting that this season will not be the end of many fan favorites.

The Walking Dead developer Telltale Games appeared at a San Diego Comic-Con panel to reveal some new images and details about the upcoming Season 3. We now know that players will control two different characters and be introduced to a familiar face.

One of the playable characters is series protagonist Clementine, who has aged a few years since Season 2. You'll switch between her and new character Javier, but you won't play as both of them in the "same frame of time."

Javier is described as a survivor that's "currently struggling to keep his family together in the face of the undead apocalypse." Additionally, Telltale confirmed that AJ, the child of Rebecca, will return in Season 2. Don't hold it against yourself if you don't remember him because he was only a baby in the second season. You can see pictures of him and other characters in the image gallery above.
