Pumping water level (PWL) = 20m
Static water level (SWL) = 5.3m
Ground Elevation = 31m
Pump or Borehole Setting = 30.5m
My computation on TOTAL HEAD
DRAWDOWN = PWL-SWL = 20 - 5.3 = 14.7m
TOTAL HEAD = Ground or Borehole Elevation – DRAWDOWN = 31 – 14.7 = 16.3 m
>>>Gentlemen, Is this the correct computation in determining the Reservoir Total Head on a Submersible Pump????
Another question is:
I have a pumping station that produces an
Ave. Flow = 20 LPS
Ave. Discharge Head = 51 m or approx. 72psi
I’ve used the TOTAL HEAD of 16.3 m computed above and a GRUNDFOS pump w/ model SP60-7
3 point Performance curve: Flow = 0 ; Head = 94
12 81
20 68
How can I model this correctly on epanet with an approximate Ave Flow 20 LPS and Ave Discharge head of 51 m. I know you have to determine the correct water demand to achieve this. But my only concern is how to do the correct settings on suction node and discharge node of the pump to acquire that approximate flow and head.
And please gentlemen can anyone help to elaborate this further for me and how to do it?…. “At the suction (inlet) node of the pump add a demand equal to the required pump flow and place a negative demand of the same magnitude at the discharge node” This is something to be done to meet a specific flow, right?
Please help, Thank you very much.
