attachment import java error

Hi all,

I need help interpreting what is probably a very common error, but I couldn't find an explanation for it elsewhere. 

I just imported an email collection in which 52,000 attachments did import successfully, but I also had approx 14,000 attachments that did not import with the error message below. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi Sarah,

Sorry to hear that you've run into this issue. We may need some additional information to deduce what is going on here. Could you please send the .log files from your epadd-settings folder to epadd_project.stanford.edu? Our developer can take a look and try to resolve this error.

Hi Sally,

I created an issue at the suggestion of a colleague who knows more about java than I do, and you can see that here (with log files): https://github.com/ePADD/epadd/issues/505 

Unfortunately, I realized after submitting that issue that when we updated ePADD to 11.1.1 after the import that triggered the error messages, and so we lost the log and warning files from the previous version, which would have documented the attachment import errors.  So, I guess this is now a cautionary tale for anyone else hoping to track issues across versions -- save your log files elsewhere before you update.
