Winter break at Stanford

Hi everyone,

Having just moved the Manuscripts Unit off campus to their new digs in Redwood City and dealing with the inevitable fallout, I am certainly ready for winter break.

SUL is closed from December 21st till January 6th. Peter is taking an additional two weeks and will be out until January 13th. He will be meeting virtually with Sit and Sudheendra over this break.

A brief update on the development front: the team has been testing Open NLP as a replacement for SU's NLP. Primarily this is because it is compatible with our licensing direction (Apache). However, at this time the performance is rather slow so Sudheendra is trying to fine tune it. More about this in January after the break.
