Hi there,

I am a tad confused as to know where even to start troubleshooting this outside of re-installing.
It's a long time since I've given any care & consideration to my EON install.
I did have a failed disk but was able to re-silver without any trouble.

Booting off IDE/Flash Module which appears to be fine.

uname -a output - 'SunOS kosciusko 5.11 oi_151a i86pc i386 i86pc'

The only files under /mnt are:
kosciusko:5:/mnt>ls -al
total 4
drwxr-xr-x   2 root     sys          512 Oct  8  2011 .
drwxr-xr-x  19 root     root         512 Aug 17 04:40 ..
kosciusko:6:/mnt>cd /boot
kosciusko:7:/boot>ls -al
total 8
drwxr-xr-x   4 root     sys          512 Dec 21  2011 .
drwxr-xr-x  19 root     root         512 Aug 17 04:40 ..
drwxr-xr-x   3 root     sys          512 Dec 21  2011 acpi
drwxr-xr-x   4 root     sys          512 Dec 21  2011 solaris
kosciusko:8:/boot>cd solaris/
kosciusko:9:/boot/solaris>ls
bin               bootenv.rc        devicedb          filelist.ramdisk  filelist.safe

Files such as the following are no where to be found:

/mnt/eon0/boot/x86.eon.orig

/boot/x86eon.1

/boot/x86eon.2

/mnt/eon0/.exec

/mnt/eon0/boot/grub/menu.lst

/mnt/eon0/.backup

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Neil

Sounds like the boot device/key needs manual attention, possibly from improper shutdown.

You need to run
fsck -y /dev/rdsk/cxtxdxs0
Then to remount the key
chkdev.sh

To find your cxtxdxs0 (usb key) device run
format -e

Hope that helps
