I've just moved to the new omnios-a1b878a, (eon-cifs-om-010817-ent.zip). So far so good. need to do a zpool upgrade but waiting on stability for a few days before I do that. Looks good so far thanks for the updates and supports.

Were you able to successfully migrate your pre-existing EON installation to this new image? If so, any gotchas? The version I'm running is quite old (and *stable*), but I'm starting to look at leveraging some newer features, so thinking upgrading.

Current version:

#cat /etc/.eon

eon: abyss      0.60.0  Sun Apr  4 19:47:35 EDT 2010    Andre Lue

jdef,

was able to do it quite easily, however I haven't gotten CIFS to work (I have only 1 windows client that now supports NFS), didn't mess with it too much.

but got the new binkit bootstrapped and running. I didn't use the transporter i just manually copied over the files.

1. create USB stick with new version, booted in VirtualBox
2. copy over settings and relevant files to USB stick on VirtualBox from running host via ssh, then updimg.sh to store changes.
2. boot real hardware with USB (step 1,2). do a final setup (for hostname) and updimg.sh.

that was it. I used to run mysql on eon but I moved it to a different host and just backup the data (mysqldump) to this box over NFS.

CIFS is working for me, out of box, just set your zfs sharesmb

I upgraded 3 systems in Februar to eon-cifs-om-010817-ent mainly because M$ is phasing out SMB 1.x since a few Win10 releases ...
so now my EON-systems have SMB 2.1.
