Dear TIC Teachers and Friends,

I hope you, your students, and your trout find yourselves happy and healthy as we approach the holiday season! Please find attached our November newsletter, which has important tips for trout care during the upcoming holidays. I also want to flag a few additional highlights of this newsletter:

  1. We are offering classroom/tank visits to provide a TIC lesson and feedback on your tank. Please fill out our Request Form if you are interested.
  2. Catskill Watershed Corporation’s Watershed Education Grant application period is now open! Apply by Friday, February 3, 2022 to receive up funding for your tank and program equipment for the 2023-24 school year. Contact Samantha Costa with any questions.
  3. Watershed Agricultural Council’s Trout Release and Reservoir Bus Tour application period will be opening soon, and is due Friday, January 6, 2022. This grant covers the cost of transportation up to the watershed for trout release trips and includes additional programming. Stay tuned on their website, and contact Tyler Van Fleet with any questions.

Finally, I would love to hear about how your trout babies are doing, and what has been working well for you in your curriculum! We also like to feature these TIC updates on our NYC Water social media pages, if you are interested in further recognition for your amazing work. 😊

As always, please reach out anytime with any questions, comments, or concerns.

All the best,

Nicki

Hi again, all!

My apologies, but the deadlines provided previously for the WAC and CWC grants were incorrect. Please see them corrected below with a corrected newsletter attached.

All the best,

Nicki
