Dear TIC teachers, educators, and friends,
Most of our brown trout are now swimming and eating, and our brook trout are starting to hatch. It’s hard to imagine that in just a few months they will all be on their own in our watershed streams!
In the attached newsletter, you will find information about important grant opportunities, holiday trout care instructions, and information about DEP’s upcoming Water Resources Art and Poetry Contest. We are also launching our new Trout in the Classroom Education Module! You can access these TIC lessons and resources on our website.
Keep an eye out for our January newsletter, which will include information about scheduling and planning your trout release field trips for Spring 2025. In the meantime, if you are in need of transportation funding for your trout release, please make sure to apply for the Watershed Agricultural Council Field Trip Grant by January 10 at 5 pm.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season!
-Nicki
P.S. Please save the date for our TIC Spring Conference, which will be on Tuesday, March 11 at Pier 57 in Manhattan. More details coming soon.
