Dear TIC Teachers, Educators, and Friends,

I enjoyed seeing many of you at the TIC Fall Teacher Conference last week! Attached is our October Newsletter with some trout and tank care tips for the fall. Also included in this newsletter is our first New York State TIC Manual! Please let me know if you have any feedback that we can use to improve future editions.

I will be in touch again soon with additional resources from the conference for attendees. Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions, comments, or concerns.

Wishing happy birthdays to all the baby trout!

-Nicki

P.S. A few slots are still available for our Wastewater Resource Recovery professional learning opportunity on Friday, November 1 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility. Learn about NYC’s wastewater treatment process from experts in the field and view educational exhibits on waste-to-energy and biogas-to-grid projects while touring the Newtown Creek facility in Brooklyn. Educators looking to book trips to the Visitor Center at Newtown Creek this spring will have the chance to see firsthand what their students will be learning. This is also a great opportunity to learn about ways to incorporate wastewater and resource recovery into the NYC Public Schools upcoming Waste Climate Action Day (November 19).  NY State teachers are eligible for CTLE hours for participating. Register here.
