Hey guys,

It's been four days* since the OG came downstairs; when people start jonesing for ABIs Aria will be more than happy to supply them in exchange for one of the following:

-information about the NG (stuff like secrets, weaknesses, anything 'useful' really)
-help getting the burnt room up on level 5 cleaned up/liveable - especially good for people taking strength/speed ABIs I guess since there's probably a lot of stuff to drag out
-pledges of loyalty - nothing formal, obvs, but she's going to start trying to get people 'on her side', as it were so if people don't have anything else to offer in exchange she'll just want assurances that her generosity won't be forgotten in the future

I'm totally up for logging any/all of this but I realise we have a lot of threads going at the moment so I'm not going to put anything additional up just yet. If you want to log anything or just hash out what sort of exchange your character/Aria would've had, feel free to ping me!

-Erin

*I have no idea how long addicted characters can go between hits so if I'm massively jumping the gun, apologies!

How will Aria deal with ABI addicts who're unwilling to trade? Because Boyd is definitely dependent (as are a lot of people on his team) but he considers the ABIs a shared resource that Aria is simply in charge of rationing, and he would not play the quid pro quo game. His approach is that they're all in this together and if one of them starts going through withdrawal while downstairs, they'll all be at risk.

Aria will agree it puts everybody at risk, so he really shouldn't kick up a fuss. All she's asking him to do is help move a couch. If he doesn't feel like it, he knows how to get back upstairs to get his own. She will be calm but not willing to budge, and she won't gloat if Boyd/anybody else backs down.

Oh god, they might actually have a staredown over a couch. XD Boyd probably will back down to avoid the fuss (going back upstairs is risky and a last resort) and he'll help her move the couch with a very fake smile, buuut he won't forget it. He knows a power play when he sees one.

At this point Al will probably want to discretely call a meeting of the minds, not specifically to address this problem, but it would likely be on the docket. Maybe they can fight about it then. :D

For his part he agrees with Boyd, but also kind of wishes he had thought of it before Aria. XD

Alternatively, Hannibal's couch is open to anyone who wants to overcome the addiction. Temporarily.

Hahaha, yessss, there should definitely be an OG meeting, though if it comes up in an 'official' capacity Aria might take a different tack. Do we want to do that, and if so, should it just be an OOC discussion or actually threaded out?

Danielle Wooding

I think it depends on who is invited. If it's just the 3 of them or the 3 and a couple of other specific people, it could be cool to thread out. In Deadwood Al has a habit of inviting the people he sees as the leaders of the community to the Gem to discuss important things and get their buy in, so this would be something like that.

The ABIs don't necessarily have to come up in an official capacity, or if they do it could be in reaction to what happens between Aria and Boyd. I'm open to whatever configuration.

I'm totally up for threading it out. :D We definitely need at least one on-screen staredown between Boyd and Aria.

If it comes up in a 'so I've heard you've been asking favours in return for ABIs' sort of thing that might work.

We should totally thread it. :D And if stuff gets stalled, we can always hash the rest of it out OOCly.

Cool. Either way that you two want to handle Boyd/Aria is good for me.

At some point either day 4 or day 5 (if you're doing the Aria/Furniture/ABIs thing on day 4) I'll have Al come around in person or have him send a trusted volunteer (Chiana? any one else who won't blab?) to give a time and a place. Much as he understands that technology is the name of the game here, he's still a bit old fashioned, which isn't to say he wouldn't have already asked Topher to hack everyone's email and pass anything interesting on to him. Speaking of... Becky? XD Ha, I realize that's a bigger conversation OOC, I figure it's just something Al would ask Topher to do whether he actually can or not.

Anyway, rambling.

Is there anyone who thinks their OG would be included on this meeting? Hannibal maybe? To give you an idea of who Al would invite in the show it's usually the major (male - although he's making exceptions on the Proserpina to that rule) pillars of the community which means either those who own major businesses, some sort of respected (ha) office, doctor, or whom others in the community recognize as a go-to person. If you think your OG fits that, let me know!

I'd love Hannibal in on the meeting, though he's not on ABIs or suffering withdrawl. But he might be able to have a little fun, so he'd be all for it.

Tal - the meeting wouldn't specifically be for the ABIs - that's a separate issue that might come into play depending on Aria and Boyd. More like, "here's the current status, here's the future plans, gather you troops and resources" sorta thing although really just a check in now that they're faced with the reality of the situation and reminding people of their commitments. Al expects a lot of things to have shifted in a very short time, so he wants to make sure the players with major influence are all still agreed and not having second thoughts.

Just to check... what *is* the plan for the OG right now? They know about the shuttles, and now that the countdown's been stopped everything's relaxed, but when are they planning to make their move? Obviously it won't come to that because of all the plans we have in place OOC but presumably they must have a plan for getting off the station - unless that's what they're going to be meeting to discuss now?

Manya Soibelman

Boyd would definitely like Jackson to be in on the meeting.

As for the plan... yeah, I think they'll have a lot to discuss because the situation has changed since they decided to pull the killswitch. Other than getting to the shuttles, they need to find a way to disable the nanites because the nanites wouldn't allow them to get away from the station for long. These are the two main goals, but there are a lot of other questions they need to tackle, like whether they should try to take any of the NG along and how to subdue/get rid of the rest.

Joel may be at the meeting as well - while he's not a leader, he's also not a follower, so he tries to keep up on what's going on, and definitely sort of holds his own. Would Al think he should be there?

So why would Al include Joel though? I mean, I assume he didn't just put out a memo, heh, so am wondering why he'd include someone like that - I mean by your criteria there Spike and Michonne fit that description too, and neither of them would to my mind be appropriate attendees! :-)

That's why I'm asking Nelle. :) I don't know Al's motivations, although I do know that he and Al get along well enough. And it's okay! Totally understand how the phone thing goes.

Just mildly amused that it looks like half the OG are going to be there at this point!

Al would not be likely to ask loners. Aria and Boyd are the only two he would designate as 'required' for this particular meeting, which doesn't mean they wouldn't follow up with something more community oriented. Actually that's probably a good idea (maybe talked out OOC), but I don't think it would be what Al would have in mind at this juncture. He wants to take the temperature of the people that can influence others. So in the case of Joel, Spike, Michonne, etc. I don't think they really fit that, but if you think they do, just let me know why and I can work it in.

In the case of Jackson, Al wouldn't quibble if Boyd invited him along, but he wouldn't have invited him directly I don't think.

Hannibal I mentioned because Al considers him someone who notices things that no one else does and that's valuable to him. Al also values Glen in a similar way, but he's more likely to sound him out beforehand with some direct questions than invite him to the meeting and endure his proselytizing. He probably has talked to many of the OG in this way in the past couple of days. If you think yours would have shared something specific, let me know.

Hope that all makes sense. :)

Agreed all round - I'm personally in favour, from a storytelling POV, of a meeting like this being as small as possible. Half the group disappearing off makes it as much about excluding the others and that... well, that would make things interesting in what I feel would be a less fun way, heh.

Works for me! Aria wouldn't protest at having Jackson there, though if he's drunk there might be Words later. ;)

Re: Jackson being there or not, the fact that we don't want half the OG there is pretty much a big reason why I really don't mind if he isn't there. But if he is there, he can just be the guy who stays silent the entire meeting, or maybe speaks up once or twice at best, if really needed. And then he has private debriefings with Boyd, and with Aria, later. ;) But seriously, that is entirely up to the three main guys there!

(Also, Aria, he would not be drunk. Maybe a bit hungover, but not even a massive one! ...that is, as long as he knows ahead of time it's happening.)

I think it makes sense for as small a group as possible, otherwise they run the risk of being conspicuous and/or whatever they talk about getting leaked. Al, Aria, Boyd, Glen and Hannibal make the most sense to me. The only other person/personality I see missing is maybe Simon, as he's been there almost the longest and has more of a cautious temperament than many of the others, but it'd depend on if one of the big 3 invited him, I think. :)
