Subject: Generative Optogenetic (GO) Program Solicitation

Greetings,

 

We are excited to announce that the Generative Optogenetic (GO) Program Solicitation (DARPA-PS-26-10) is now available on SAM.gov. Five-page abstracts are a required first step in responding to the solicitation, and these are due January 16^th, 2026. For more information about the program, visit the GO Program webpage.

 

To help you better understand the program’s technical objectives and requirements, we encourage you to watch the comprehensive deep-dive video provided by the GO Program Manager, Dr. Matthew Pava. This video, available on the GO Program webpage, provides detailed insights into the program’s goals and challenges. Additional videos discussing the contracting process and program security for GO will be posted to the program webpage in the coming weeks. 

 

As a reminder, DARPA will host a GO Proposer’s Workshop in Washington, DC on January 7^th, 2026. Attendance at the Proposer’s Workshop is not required to respond to the solicitation; however, it is highly recommended as it provides a valuable opportunity for prospective proposers to form strong interdisciplinary teams necessary for success on this challenging program. The registration deadline is Monday, December 29^th at 4:00PM ET.  

 

Because this workshop is specifically focused on networking and team formation, we strongly recommend that all prospective proposers read the Program Solicitation and watch the deep-dive video prior to attending the Proposer’s Workshop. All participants in the workshop are strongly encouraged to present talks and posters showcasing their capabilities and expertise. It is optional and up to each individual proposer whether they want to include details about their technical approach.
