Testing PR review request

Hi all,

The test suite has been broken for some time now.

I've overhauled the test suite to be compatible with yt-4.x and to run
tests in parallel. Could two people review the PR?

Many of the other PRs are blocked by the lack of testing, and I'd like
to merge this into the mainline soon.
