In our Hangout last week, we were looking for someone in the community
to take over our Mochi UI library. This was a variation on Onyx that
we developed in 2012 for new application work that has a very rounded
and organic look. We're wanting to open source this, but we want a
champion to be responsible for the library as maintainer. This mainly
means that you'll spend some time building apps with the library and
also handle pull request review for any changes. We don't anticipate
this is much work, it's just not something any of the core team
members at LG or HP have time to do right now.

Anyone game?

Can we look at it? If there is something online about it then it would help to foster interest. I am game to help, I am eager to be more involved with Enyo. I am using Enyo in lots of projects related to Firefox OS so new UI libraries are among my main interests right now.

If there is no one more adequate available then I could fill this role.

I've not been involved in the governance of an open source project before so I wouldn't want to take it over but I'd definitely like to help out however I can.

I might be interested but would prefer to take a look at it before providing a final answer. I also haven't been involved in governance of an open source project so would be great to get some guidance and help from others. I've recently finished a major Enyo app with clinical, administrative, and educational modules for the department of anesthesia at my hospital and am 1/4 of the way done on a workflow management Enyo app for my startup. I certainly wouldn't mind taking pieces of these apps, applying Mochi to it, and releasing as examples.

Hi Ben,

I had a chat with WebOS Ports lead Tom King earlier today on this and this is something that we would be interested in as WebOS Ports to take on board.

I'm quite sure your familiar with our current porting efforts and the work that the team is doing out in the open. If not I'm happy to provide you references of current and past projects.

We'd like to have a bit more clarity on what you are looking for exactly, in what GitHub space this will be (EnyoJS or ....?) etc.

Best regards,
Herman van Hazendonk

On behalf of WebOS Ports

Our thought is that we'll continue to own the repo as enyojs/mochi,
but we'll setup a GitHub team where write access was available to one
or more maintainers in addition to the core Enyo JS contributors.
This is different from the current repos.

I'm pleased to see the WebOS Ports team interested too... I think we
can likely curate a nice group of people here.
