Guterres calls for

Presidents
In an effort to end the war in
Ukraine, Secretary-General António Guterres has written
separate letters to the leaders of Russia and Ukraine
requesting meetings with them in their respective
capitals.

Ukraine: EU countries to
receive additional EUR 3.5 billion pre-financing for
reception of refugees
In order to facilitate the
reception of refugees from Ukraine following the Russian
aggression, the Council adopted today a legislative act
allowing Member States to receive this year a total of
an additional EUR 3.5 billion depending on the number of
refugees hosted from this

As five million people have
already fled Ukraine and seven million more are
internally displaced, the UN High Commissioner for
Refugees has urged the Security Council to "put aside"
its divisions and find a way to end the "horrible and
senseless war", now in its eighth

protecting children from sexual exploitation and abuse
during the refugee crisis?
With Europe facing the second
major refugee crisis in less than a decade, the Council
of Europe’s Lanzarote Committee has published ten
compliance reports evaluating legislation, services and
other measures in place for the protection of children
affected by the refugee crisis from sexual exploitation
and sexual abuse in 41 state Parties to the Lanzarote
Convention.

Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) told
the Security Council that Pristina and Belgrade must
engage more actively in dialogue facilitated by the

has warned that 20 million people could go hungry this
