It's time for all EU countries to protect animals. Italy's New Law Is a Victory for Animals. The Rest of the EU Must Follow Suit!      Sign Now        In a major step forward for animal protection, Italy has recently passed a groundbreaking bill aimed at strengthening the country's animal welfare laws. This bill recognizes animals as sentient beings deserving of legal protection, not just subjects whose suffering may offend human sensibilities. This bill is a landmark shift in how animals are viewed under Italian law. Now, we need to ensure that every country in the European Union follows Italy's example.   Sign the petition to ask the European Commission to follow Italy's example and ensure its member states strengthen their animal welfare laws!   The new Italian law includes provisions to ban the keeping of dogs on chains (unless in specific, rare circumstances), ensure animals taken from abusive situations are placed into care, and address the growing issue of animal cruelty spread through social media.
