Rewarding Ceremony -
Competition for Journalists on “Climate Change and Public
Health”
On 11 May 2017, a rewarding ceremony of the media
competition “Climate Change and Public Health” was carried out in Tbilisi. The
competition was conducted by NGO “EcoVision,” within the framework of the
regional project “Climate Forum East II.” The local partner of the project is
the Georgian Red Cross Society. The regional project is coordinated by the
Austrian Red Cross. The project is financed by the EU and co-financed by the
Austrian Development Agency and Austrian Red Cross.
The
competition was open for journalists from all over Georgia who are currently
working in media organizations (TV, radio, print or online
media).
The participants of the competition made media
products on the topic “Climate Change and Public Health”. The winners were
selected according to the following
criteria:

Compliance of the content with the contest
topic;
* Duration of the
reportage / Length of the
article;
* Rating and
coverage of media
organization;
* Using of
one or more media messages.
The winners of the competition were revealed
by a special jury. The winners were rewarded with cash
prizes.

A month before the media contest, the
training was conducted for journalists on the topic of "Climate Change and
Public Health".
About 20 journalists took part in it from
Tbilisi and from different regions of Georgia. (See information about the

Within the framework of
the regional project “Climate Forum East II,” NGO “EcoVision” created a document
“Analyses of current national policies in Climate Change and Public Health

Within the
framework of this project, “Ecovision” also developed Climate Change Adaptation

Municipalities.
It is noteworthy, that this document is
approved by Dedoplistskaro Municipality and the Administration is using this
plan during the working process. This case is the only one in
Georgia.
